Reef & Wreck Fishing
This fishing is our bread and butter fishing in Marathon. A multitude of fish are being caught which include Snapper, Grouper, Cobia, Permit, Jacks,and Sharks. Reef and wreck fishing is the best place to start for people that have never fished in salt water before. Kids and families enjoy the constant action this fishing provides.

We specialize in live bait fishing, which include kites, sight fishing, and drift fishing. Double and triple hook up on sailfish are very common and on a good day double digit catches are very possible.

Offshore, including dolphin, sailfish, wahoo, swordfish
Dolphin which start to show up in May and run through August and run in very large schools. They range from 5lbs to 60lbs.

Tarpon Fishing
Done around bridges and flats with live bait and light tackle. We do 4 hour trips in the morning and late evening. Tarpon are large fish that average 60lb-150lbs. These fish are powerful fish that can take up to 2 hours to land, with average fight lasting about 30 to 40min.

Dolphin are very powerful fish that run and jump alot. For those that are looking to fill up a cooler of meat, the dolphin are the fish to fit that bill.

Sailfish show up in late fall (Oct) and run through (May). Their amazing jumps and blistering runs make them one of the finest game fish in the ocean. We use light tackle and spinning reels that range from 12lb to 20lb test line.

For unmatched power, we fish for swordfish. They reach monster sizes that makes them the ultimate game fish. These tackle busters range from 80lbs to 500lbs and are very tasty fish. We specialize in daytime sword fishing and have an 80% catch ratio. The swordfish tackle we use ranges from 50lb to 100lbs test and makes for thrilling stand up fishing.   For a battle of a lifetime come and try out the daytime swordfish charter trips.

Born in Argentina, Ariel moved to Marathon, Florida Keys in 1994 and has been fishing ever since.  With fourteen years experience fishing in the Keys, Ariel is a sure thing.  Whatever type of fishing you are interested in, he will put you where the fish are.  Ariel's knowledge of the area waters and the love of the sport, paired with his patience & charm will round out the entire Florida Keys fishing experience for all who come aboard the Top Notch.

Captain Shelby Bentley has joined our team and what a great addition he is! Shelby was born in Orlando and moved to the Keys in 1984. With his 19 years of experience fishing all throughout the Florida Keys its safe to say you won't be disappointed. With his knowledge and skill he gives you plenty of options. He's like a magician, he knows all the tricks. If one thing is not working he is always prepared for something else. Even if fishing is slow, like an illusionist, he produces fish out of nowhere. Owner Janet Vermette, who was born and raised in the "Ocean State" of Rhode Island, fell in love with fishing while living for eight years in St. Thomas Virgin Islands.  Her love of the sport became a lifestyle.  Now that Marathon Key, Florida is home, sharing the thrill of "fish on!" with her customers is a dream come true. Janet also has a home in Destin, another of Florida's greatest off-shore fishing destinations.
